Board of Directors
UYONET's Board of diectors is comprised of Seven (7) persons of High repute elected every Three (3) years at the Annual General Meeting and are drawn from among our Member Organisations.
UYONET's current Board of Directors (2013 - 2015) is comprised of 4 females and 3 males with a vast experience in working with youth, Public Adminisration and Resource Management among others.
Mr. Matovu J. Isa: - Is a governance and development consultant. He brings to the UYONET's Board 10 years’ experience in Civil Society Organisations' (CSO) leadership, youth work, project planning and management, policy research and advocacy and resource mobilisation.
Isa holds a Bachelors Degree of Arts in Social Sciences, Political Science and Public Administration from Makerere University; a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration and Management from Uganda Management Institute (UMI).
Ms. Deborah Asikeit:- She is the Vice Chairperson and Heads Human Resource & Governance Committee of the UYONET Board of Directors.
Mr. Kasozi Musa: - The current Executive Director at Youth After School Initiative, Uganda Chapter holds bachelor’s degree in Education from Makerere University - Kampala and is On thesis for a Masters in Human Resource Management in the same institute. He chairs the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee of teh UYONET Board of Directors.
Musa has 8 years’ experience in youth work to his name as an experienced leader, teacher and trainer, mentor and entrepreneur. Specific Skills possessed include: Leadership and Advocacy; Human Resource Management; Project Planning and Management; Financial Planning and budget management; Teaching and Training; Monitoring and evaluation; Situational Analysis; Community mobilization; Career Guidance and Development; Psycho-social therapy counseling; Fieldwork and research; Special needs handling; Communication and reporting.
Mr. Akuma Moses Odims: - He is the Chairperson, Membership & Programs Committee of the UYONET Board of Directors.
Ms. Iga Aisha: - Holds a Bachelors Degree of Adult and Community Education (BACE) from Makerere University Kampala, and a Diploma in Social Work and Social Administration (DSWSA) from Makerere Institute for Social Development.
- Aisha has 6 years of working with Young People on Reproductive Health issues and other community development work towards young people and women.
Ms. Mugabo Cathy: - Catherine is a highly versatile, passionate and focused ambassador of change. She holds a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) from Makerere University Business School. She has also trained in governance and leadership, writing, coaching and facilitation skills among others.
UYONET's secretariat and Board of Directors are honoured to tap into her over 7 years experience in human rights issues and development, with a peculiar focus on Disability and Children’s rights and responsibilities. She is also conversant with grant making and donor relations. Cathy, a student of life, previously worked with conservation efforts and has basic finance management for non-profit entities.
Ms. Carol Owashaba: – Currently Cordinator, Action for Youth Development.
