Tax MPs, Increase Job Opportunities For Youth” Youth Condemn MPs Tax Exemptions
From the 18th - 19th April 2016, Open Space and the Youth Coalition on Electoral Democracy in partnership with Action Aid Uganda and with support from DGF successfully organised the National Youth Leadership Dialogue at Eureka Place Hotel.
The dialogue was a timely post election multi-stakeholder platform that brought together a diverse group of youth including newly elected members of Parliament, National Youth Council leaders, district youth councillors and civil society youth leaders to review the gains of their collaborations on youth issues as well as initiate constructive post election agenda on issues raised in the Youth manifesto.
One of the key outcomes from the meeting was the release of a press statement on MP Tax Exemption with Youth leaders condemning this move and calling for increase in job opportunities for youth from tax revenue collections.
