UYONET HOLDS SYMPOSIUM ON DIGITAL MEDIA AND YOUTH PARTICIPATION

Uyonet held a symposium on digital media and youth participation at Grand Global Hotel on the 6th of October 2017.

The symposium attracted many participants including, media personality Solomon Serwanja, Police spokes person Emilian Kayima, Ruth Aine a speaker, blogger and communicator and Kafeero foundation an organization that inspires communities, individuals and economies to grow through innovation.

The engagement was mainly focusing on the different ways in which media can be used to benefit individuals, businesses and organizations.

Social media is used by the majority as a leisure tool.According to the world population, by 2048 Africa will be the continent with the youngest population.Now is the time for us to utilize social media beyond just a leisure tool.

Social media can be used to transform societies and it is also bound to make us grow into leaders.Youth need to embrace social media for their voices to be heard and in-order to stand out.
