Uganda Youth Network

Uganda Youth Network was founded in January 2002 then called Youth Analysis Board (YAB) with an initial vision to provide and constitute a forum for consultation on proposed legislation and government policies with the aim of advocating for policies which are pro-youth. In 2003 the organization registered with the National NGO Board as a National Network of youth organizations.

UYONET is a non-religious and non partisan, non-governmental organization whose membership is open to youth and youth organisations that subscribe to the network’s Constitution and core values.
Since then, UYONET has grown into a recognized national youth organization with its secretariat in Kampala but implementing programmes in 29 districts of the Country. Our programme portfolios have grown from policy advocacy to action programmes in the areas of human rights, governance, Youth Economic empowerment and sustainable development.

Implementing Partners

UYONET draws its strength from networking with its member organizations and creating linkages with other civil society organizations. We are currently working with numerous youth NGOs/CBOs/groups across the country as well as youth leagues of the following political parties; Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Justice Forum (JEEMA), Conservative Party (CP), National Resistance Movement (NRM), and Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) in all our programmes.
We also closely work with the National Youth Council (NYC), Uganda National Students’ Association (UNSA) and local youth community based organizations even if those may not be members of the network. In such circumstances, memoranda of understanding are signed with them. UYONET works with district councils and lower local governments in all its areas of operation.
